The sign below the meter clearly states that you will be towed after 6PM as these two prime spots become a taxi stand. Well, my happy hour activities usually crosses the cut-off and over the years I have seen countless cars get ticketed and impounded.
Why don't I (and my fellow imbibers) help these dumb-dumb's out, you ask.
We do. Not always, but we do. But after years of this it's annoying to keep telling a constant stream of people not to park there as they are walking away. The warning sign is clear in its intent and besides it can really eat into our fun storytelling and interesting gossip.
To be honest, fifty percent of the people you try to warn just look at you with disdain like we're just trying to punk them. Some will actually READ the sign and still walk away only to come back to an impounded car and scratch their head like an inbred, "Huh?"
For instance, earlier this week a couple parked their SUV at 5:45 and one of us tried to warn them but they chose to blatantly (and quite rudely) ignore him as they went to enjoy a nice dinner directly across the street.
I never understand why some of these people are so rude when we are only trying to help and we take particular delight when these jerks get towed. Just desserts really.
It took a full 30 minutes for their vehicle to be hoisted and towed but they never looked up from their entrees to notice that their date was about to take an interesting and costly turn.
I hope that salad was worth it dirt bag.
