Every time I see it I think two things...
One: Way to set an example for your kids bucko.
And two: Takes me back to 5th grade. As I'll share with you now.
I was a good kid. I wasn't much into mischief nor was I a troublemaker.
At school I had like-minded friends. Ok yea, I was usually teacher's pet.
During a San Diego heatwave while on recess with Linda & Ken one day...
Ken noticed that the schoolyard asphalt was unusually soft from the heat.
So we began to pick away at it. Who wouldn't, right?
A couple of days later the three of us were called to the principals office.
Naturally we assumed we were getting more praise as model students.
Nope. Instead we were getting busted for vandalizing school property.
The three of us sat there with stunning looks on our faces.
Looks that said plainly, "But how did he know?"
The principal explained, "You're good kids so we won't notify your parents."
Phew. Cuz you know I was shitting bricks.
He continued, "But next time, don't carve your names in the asphalt."
