This cutie was being walked by his owner - a little frail old man.
I stopped to tell the old man that I thought his dog was beautiful.
In fact I continued, "His beard makes him look like a grandpa."
The old man replied, "Except that she's a she so she looks like a grandma."
I insisted with a playful wag of my finger, "But grandma's don't have beards."
He thought about it for a second and then a wry smile crossed his face,
"I don't know about your grandma but mine sure did!"
Then we enjoyed a hearty chuck'le.
Just before we parted ways our conversation turned serious as he said,
"Thank you for stopping to talk to me. Nobody ever talks to me."
I reached for his hand and squeezed it, "And I thank you for the laugh."
