Sadly, Serena Williams has made it official - she's pulled out of the US Open.
She sustained a severe cut on her foot in July that required surgery.
She has not played a match on tour since winning her 4th Wimbledon.
Serena was heading to the US Open as the top seed.
And returning to the site of her line judge incident in the Sf's last year.
She lost that match to eventual champion Kim Clijsters.
It's not as tho Serena hasn't had her share of fun with that boot on...
She has tweeted several fun pics including the one above a few days ago.
Today she took to her Twitterpage to mourn her withdrawal:
I'm devastated to not be participating in US Open. Grand slams are my life.
