This is the feel good story of the weekend.

At 31 Nicolas is the oldest 1st time ATP winner since 2005.

Before this tourney he had a W/L of 1-2 for the 2013 season.

Post match: It's amazing. I cannot believe I won today.

Eastbourne ATP 250 at - Men's Final

Feliciano Lopez d 2 Gilles Simon - 76(2) 67(5) 60

Feli wins his 3rd title and 1st on grass - and 1st in 3 years.

Post match: I think grass is my best surface,

and to have at least one title on grass is very nice feeling.

Interesting to note: both men's winners this weekend are over 30.

WTA Eastbourne - Women's Final

Elena Vesnina d Q Jamie Hampton - 62 61

Elena picks up her 2nd title (both 2013) - Jamie will wait for her 1st.

Post match: But I kept believing in myself. I knew I would win this title.

I knew it was going to happen. It's not self-confidence - I knew if I kept

working hard and believing in myself, it would come. And it did.

WTA 's-Hertogenbosch - Women's Final

Simona Halep d 4 Kirsten Flipkens - 64 62

2 weeks - 2 titles. Last week she won at Nurnberg.

So she's on a nice little 10 match winning streak.

Will she be too tired to do much at Wimbledon?

Post match: I'm really happy. I want to enjoy this evening.

It's a special moment for me.

Jamie Hampton Gains Her 1st Ever WTA Final - At Eastbourne

Jamie beat Caro once in the juniors now she can boast an official WTA win.

The win will push Jamie to new heights - the top 30.

Her qualifying days will now be a thing of the past.

And hello American hopeful pressure.

Poat match: I didn't come just to play the qualifying. I try to enter every

tournament & think to get deep in the tournament, & look to win the title.

So coming off my Roland Garros run I had a good amount of confidence,

and I was hoping to get deep into this tournament this week too.

So there's that bummer US hopeful news from London today.

The '09 champ is still in the hunt for her 1st title of the year.

She will face American Jamie Hampton for the 1st time.

Well 2nd, they played against one another in the 2005 US Open juniors.

Hampton won that one. Caro doesn't even remember it. LOL

Caro: I'm not sure - I mean, I've played so many matches before,

so I don't remember.

I don't know why that really strikes me as funny. But it does.

Prolly cuz you know Jamie tells anyone who'll listen.

I would.

Ferrer & Roddick: Wimbledon Warm-Up Winners

David & Andy are seeded for a 3rd round showdown at Wimby next week.

This marks David's 15th ATP title and 2nd at this event: '08.

He and Rafa & Roger lead the tour with 4 titles each this season.

David heads to Wimby after having lost in the 4th round last year.

He will open against Dustin Brown and is in Murray's quarter.

Post match: I'm very, very happy. I've won two times here.

This is special for me because grass is maybe my worst surface.

ATP 250 Eastbourne - Final

6/WC Andy Roddick d Andreas Seppi - 63 62

Make it 601: With his Sf win Andy notched his 600th career match win.

And it was a long time coming as he hadn't won a match since March.

This marks his 31st title and 1st since Memphis in Feb '10.

Andy has now won at least 1 title in 12 consecutive seasons.

Andy & Roger are the only active players with 600 wins & 12 title years.

He will play Jamie Baker in his opener at W and is in Murray's quarter.

Rising again: The win will bump him up from #33 to about #25.

As the USA's #3 player he's still far behind Isner (#10) & Fish (#12).

Something tells me he'll finish 2012 ahead of at least one of them.

ATP: Andreas Seppi d Janko Tipsarevic  - 76(5) 36 53 ret.

Andreas win his 1st title. Janko still in search of his.

Andreas: It's for sure a special moment for me.

I didn't expect to win my first title on grass...

but I really enjoy playing on this surface.

WTA: Marion Bartoli d Petra Kvitova - 61 46 75

Marion grabs her 1st grass court title and 6th of her WTA career.

Marion: We were seven out of the Top 10 players plus Venus and Serena...

So it was definitely a very hard task to win the tournament.

APT: Dmitry Tursunov d 4 Ivan Dodig - 63 62

Dmitry wins his 7th ATP title & 1st in two years.

He will make a rankings jump to about #50 on Monday.

Dmitry: After being in tennis a long time now,

I understand one week can be terrible and one week can be great.

I happened to do all the right things at the right moments this week & I won.

WTA: 7 Roberta Vinci d Jelena Dokic - 67(7) 63 75

This was Roberta's 5th career WTA title & 2nd of the 2011 season.

Roberta: I'm tired and am playing on Monday at Wimbledon.

But I'm happy - I just won a tournament!

Serena Williams Loses 2nd Match Back in Her Return at Eastbourne

For the last week my Twitter feed has blown up about Serena's return.

And it has been nothing but unrealistic talk.

I mean, she's been away for a year - what did you honestly expect?

Hell, she barely got out of her 1st round match.

She was just seeded 7th at Wimbledon this morning so...

I would think she'd get to the 2nd week but I think it's still a question mark.

Sad stat: Her 1st serve was at only 53% and she committed 7 double faults.

This will need to improve for her to make a deep run.

Of course the defending champ has coming out-of-nowhere before...
