Hey lookie here, Janko snapped a 3 match losing streak.

Post match: A straight set victory against any Frenchman is a

big victory in my book, especially at Roland Garros.

That's a true story.

Janko put his season into the positive with a W/L of 12-11.

As a result he fell out of the top 10 last week after a long stay.

And Janko has 4th round points to defend in Paris.

He next plays fellow former top 10er Verdasco - H2H: 4-2/Janko.

He's seeded to face his friend and fellow Serb Nole in the Qf's.

I'm not sure he'll get there but ya never know.

Tommy Haas seems like the better bet.

Janko won his first tournament of the year at Chennai and then a tailspin.

He had suffered a bit of an injury for 7 tourny's could get into a Qf.

Until last week when he made the Qf's at Bucharest.

Post match: I was really pumped, because I knew he is a great returner

and can turn the match around if you are not serving well.

But on the other hand, I was good at using my chances today and

this is why I have a comfortable win under my belt.

This is the 1st time he's won back-to-back matches since the Aussie Open.

In fact, since the AO he's lost his 1st match in 4 straight tournies.

Historically Janko has been to the Qf's twice at Miami: '08 & '12.

So he hasn't yet protected his ranking points just yet.

And he'll have a tough one in the 4th round against Gilles Simon.

Simon carries a winning head-to-head into that match - H2H: 6-2/Simon.

If anything Janko must be pleased to snap that losing streak tho.

Janko Tipsarevic Speaks to His Slump on Facebook

Poor guy sounds like he's in the dumper.

He posted this sad photo on his Facebook with the paragraph:

Hard period for my career... Injury, Davis Cup, 3 first rounds in a row..

Not feeling particularly good. I will search for consolation in endless

hours of practice and hope that Indian Wells and Miami go better.

A big "thanks" to some of you who, are giving me your love and support,

cause now I really, really need it.

You're allowed to have a little slump. It won't last long. Trust.

Since his injury retirement in the Aussie 4th round...

He's yet to win a set in 3 1st round losses including yesterday at Dubai.

That will change at Indian Wells.

Janko has done well to finish the last two years in the top 10.

He sure didn't need to lose points here.

Now he will at least match is AO run of last season.

He'll next face 32 Julien Benneteau - tough but winnable.

And in his section he has as good a chance as any to get to the Qf's.

Janko Tipsarevic Takes 2013 Title at Chennai

It took Janko nearly forever to win his first ATP title at Kuala Lumpur...

But since that win 16 months ago he's now collected 4 trophies.

Post match: I didn’t play my best tennis in every match this week,

but I am happy to win the title.

I really wanted to win this tournament as it is my sixth time here.

He's ranked #9 but with Rafa's withdrawal he'll be seeded #8 at the AO.13.

Last year he lost in the 3R - I'm thinking he'll go a little farther this year.

I mean, he's seeded to get to the Qf's. I'd like to see that.

I think. I haven't seen the draw yet.

David Ferrer Wins Thriller to Gain Semifinals at US Open

That folks is a match David had no business winning.

David fought back from 1-4 down in that 5th set to force a TB and win.

I have a rule for 'instant classics' - they must be played in the Sf's or finals.

If I were to make an exception, this would be a match to make the case.

Just wow.

This is now David's 2nd US Open Sf ('07), 4th at Slam & 2nd of '12 (French).

He is a force to be considered.

After all he has a tour-tying 5 titles (with Federer) on the season.

His reward? A Sf with another Serb, Djokovic. H2H: 8-5/Novak.

But the way Novak played Juan Martin last night... Yikes is the word.

Post match: It was a very emotional match,

one of the best emotional matches of my career.

My opponent, he also deserved to win this match.

In one tie-break it's a lottery, and I had luck in important moments.

Thomaz wins his 3rd title and 2nd in Gstaad ('09).

Post match: Gstaad is very special for me...

Because I won my first title here three years ago...

Which was a surprise and unexpected.

For me to win one more time here is very special.

I feel very comfortable here, like I’m playing at home.

The win will bump him 20 spots in the rankings to about #40.

Not a bad week.

The London Games is next for both boys. Enjoy. I will.

The Serb is on a bit of a roll...

Having won Stuttgart last week Janko is on a 7 match win streak.

He advances to his 3rd final of '12: 1-1 and 10th career final: 3-6.

He will play Thomaz Bellucci - H2H: 1-1. They played a 3-setter last week.

One more day at the office and then Janko will head to the London Games.

He posted the photo above of his ice bath to Facebook a couple days ago.

Good week for top seeds as 5 of 6 tournies were won by the top dog.

The 23 year-old Croat won his 8th title and 2nd on the season.

He went one further this year as he was the runner-up last year.

David picked up his 16th title, 2nd at Bastad & 5th on the season.

All this and he's still stuck at #5 in the rankings.

This is the 1st time he has ever defended a title.

This is Nico's 3rd trip to the RG quarterfinals: 0-2.

Interestinly, Nico has yet to drop a set at this tournament.

With a 1st round loss last year he may sneak into the top 10 next week.

Post match: I'm very happy. I think I played great tennis today.

The day was a little bit cloudy, but now it's really sunny for me.

[The] win is one of the best moments of my career and I want to enjoy [it].

He will probably face Rafa next who is up a set as I write this.

This is Janko's 1st trip to the 4th R at RG.

And in his 33rd Slam this is only his 4th time to a 4th R: 1-2.

This is Nico's 3rd trip to the 4th R at RG: 2-0.

And in his 31st Slam this is his 6th time to a 4th R: 2-3.

Janko and Nico have never played.

Nico has yet to drop a set. Janko lost a set to Querrey in the 1st round.

Also noteworthy: The Serb now has a 7 match winning streak on clay.

This has all the makings of a great encounter.

Serbia Wins World Team Cup in Dusseldorf

Even without Novak Team Serbia is a handsome lot.

They beat a very sturdy Czech team.

This is their second team title in Dusseldorf - they also took it in 2009.

Ok boys, get your butts to Paris.

RAFA at Madrid:

Rafa has won this Masters Series event twice: '05 & '10.

In '05 it was an indoor hard court fall tournement.

It moved to a spring tourney in '09 and he's been to all three finals since.

Remember last year he lost in straight sets to Novak.

Odd but true: He has play one main draw match - and lost.

Ranked #8 his 1st round bye will automatically get him his best result.

Andy Murray Thru to Semifinals at Miami

By all accounts this looks like it was a thriller. I didn't see it.

In fact, I haven't seen Andy strike a ball in Miami - seems our timing is off.

This is the '09 champions 4th Sf at Miami: 1-2.

This is also his 18th Masters 1000 Sf: 8-9. Those 8 Sf wins became titles.

 He'll next play 2 Rafael Nadal - H2H: 13-5/RN. Hard courts they're 6-5/RN.

 This will be their first meeting at Miami. Both nearly their lost Qf matches.

Andy: Today's match was really important for me to get through...

[Fighting] back after being a break down a few times in the second set.

"And then also, at the end of the third set when I was up a break...

He had  break point in a tight game, and I came up with some big serves...

And served my way out of trouble, which is important.

Grigor Dimitrov into 4th Round at Miami

This win represents Grigor's first ATP match win over a top 10 player.

And it's his first trip to a Masters 1000 4th round.

His match winning reaction clearly celebrated both.

Many feel that this 20 year-old is one of the 5 or 6 future stars of the game.

I agree.

He entered Miami ranked #101 - he will at least move up into the 80's.

He will next face 9 Janko Tipsarevic who leads their H2H 2-0.

In fact, Grigor has yet to take a set - but that could change this week.

Win or lose - Grigor is on the verge...

Janko matches his result of a year ago.

Good thing cuz Isner is about to overtake him at #9 in the ranking.

Only 55 points separate them.

Janko's best Miami result was a Qf here in '08. He can match that on Tuesday.
