He previously lost 3 other second round matches in Melbourne.
Andreas is in his 5th Slam 3rd round - he has only won 1 of those.
He'll next face 12 Marin Cilic. So, maybe...

The beast and 2008 runner-up is ready to go one step further:
I have had some good results already, but I want to [take] the next step.
It's maybe to win one [a major].
I'm doing everything to achieve these things. I don't have too many goals.

I can't seem to make up my mind if Novak or Andy is winning this thing.
I do know this... that's the final I want to stay up until dawn to see.
Remember, Andy has been to the finals here twice.
But for now it's one round at a time:
You just got to try and focus and play solid,
not make too many silly mistakes. I did a good job of that today.
It's always nice to get through the first round of any tournament,
but especially here.
Oh and how 'bout some eye-candy for the ladies and gays...

At 30 Ferru comes off his best year on tour yet.
He's finished the year ranked #5 - just behind the big 4.
He won a tour-leading 7 titles - on three different surfaces no less.
He also finally won a Masters 1000 title with an impressive win at Paris.
And he posted two Sf showings at the Slams: Roland Garros & US Open.
I'm loving his chances for continued success in the coming year.

Olympics - Men's First Round

Juan is 1-1 at the Olympics as he one betters his result in Beijing.
Juan is having a career year - making 4 finals, winning 3.
And he's enjoying his 2nd week as a top 10 player.
About representing Argentina at the Games:
I’m used to playing Davis Cup and I’m so proud to represent my country.
It’s always a pressure, [but] it’s amazing, a great time.
It’s different to what we usually do on the tour.
I’m enjoying it a lot and I’m very happy to be on the Argentine team.
Hamburg ATP 500 - Doubles Final
Marrero/Verdasco d Silva/Munoz De La Nava - 64 63
There is a new power couple in town.
This win will move then as a team into the doubles top 10.
And they may end up in London but not at the Olympics - the season finals.
#4: Buenos Aires, Acapulco, Umag and Hamburg.
Fern post match: I'm very happy, of course.
It's our second [ATP World Tour] 500 title of the year and...
It will help us to be close to the Top 8...
For the chance to be in London at the end of the year.
It's a very important victory for us.

The old guy also leads the tour with most matches won this year: 47-8.
David has now made a sweep of making all 4 Slam Qf's. He's 3-4.
And he's been to all 3 this year: 1-1.
He will next play 4 Andy Murray - H2H: 5-5.
They last played a memorable match at the French which David won.
Post match: Today was one of my best matches [on a grass] court.
Ya think?
Boy, it's real tough to pick a winner in this one. I say it's even, 50-50.

The hope of a nation is moving closer to his maiden Slam.
He's been to 3 Sf's here including last year losing to Rafa.
And Rosol took care of his Nadal problem this year. Can he take advantage?

David Frost: And when you win the Grand Slam you’ll feel that all those sacrifices in the last few years were hugely worthwhile?
Andy: Yes, and that’s the thing. There have been bad moments, like last year after losing the Australian Open. I had a very low point in my career where I was struggling and I was really down, wasn’t believing in myself, and the results were bad for a few months. And then when I started to work hard again, started to spend hours on the court and in the gym, the results picked up very quickly, so I understand now there’s nothing special you need to do, it’s purely hard work and believing.

2 Rafael Nadal d Tommy Haas - 64 63 64
In five career ATP meetings Tommy has never taken a set off of Rafa.
But in the strip-off contest me thinks Rafa came in second yesterday.
This is Rafa's 8th trip to the Aussie Open & 8th time to the 3rd round: 6-1.
He'll next face (Q) Lukas Lacko - you can book Rafa's spot in the 4th R now.
Back to Tommy... Remember he's a 3-time Sf-ist here: '99, '02 & '07.
The former #2 is currently #190 - winning a round will boost that a bit.
This was Tommy's 11th Aussie Open - W/L: 26-11.
Tommy will retire knowing that this was easily his best Slam.

Currently ranked #76 this 20 year-olds future seems pretty bright.
He'll open against Jeremy Chardy at the AO.12 - H2H: 1-0/JC.
He is in Berdych's section of Rafa's quarter. Tough stuff yes...
But his day will surely come.
He was a junior #1 in '08 winning at both Wimbledon and the US Open.
Grigor has yet to win a tour level title but I'm saying it'll happen this year.
Hell, I'll even predict 2 titles this year. And a top 30 finish.
I hate predictions. Time to put the crystal ball away.
Auckland ATP 250 - Final
1 David Ferrer d Olivier Rochus - 63 64
David Ferrer defends his title and 3rd overall in Auckland - 12th career.
He solidifies his #5 ranking and seed going into the Australian Open.
Of course, I hate when these boys play the week before a Slam.
It never seems to work out very well. Hopefully Ferrer will reverse the curse.
He has a decent draw until the quarters where he'll most likely face Djokovic.
Oh, and a shout-out to Ollie - a nice late career showing.

1 Novak Djokovic d 15 Stanislas Wawrinka - 16 75 64 67(5) 12/10
I don't like to call pre-semifinal matches instant classic but...
I'll surely make an exception with this 5:02 match.
I mean, Nole was a set and 2-5 down before turning things around.
And then he nearly couldn't win the damn thing.
Post match: It was one of the longest, most interesting,
and most exciting matches I played in my career.
He will face 5 Tomas Berdych in the Qf's: 11-1 for Novak.
I know I can recover. I know I have it in me.
I wasn't worried too much about the physical part. I was ready for it.
I was ready to go the distance, and I've done so.
Hopefully I can take that day off tomorrow and recover for the quarters.
I don't mind these epic Nole matches when the result is that shirt strip.
